Why a D Kurd handpan?
D Kurd is one of the most common handpan scales — warm, a little melancholy, and open enough that almost anything played on it sounds intentional. It's the scale I play live, so the instrument above is tuned to match my actual instrument, note for note.
Each tone field is struck independently, the same way it would be on the real steel — no single sample stretched across the whole thing, and no two fields are quite the same size, just like a hand-tuned instrument.
